A moment to take a pause, reflect and think about the methods we use, the
way we work and interact. A team of international producers launch a
discussion and workshop on cross-border collaborations in an informal
setting.

This session will focus on a crucial aspect of cultural production: technical
coordination. May we be working as artists or production managers, soon we
will encounter the issues of setting up an event, a production – and we will
find ourselves discussing technical riders.
– “How many people can be seated and in what ways?”
– “Is there anything in the show that requires special announcements? Is
this show accessible?”
– “How will you transport your set?”
– “How much time do you need for set-up?”
Once we start touring, it will also become clear that the answers to these
questions might differ in each venue, as well as the standard practices in
each country.

During the session managers and artists coordinating tours globally will
share their experience with the participants.
*the event will be held in english
**the event is free of charge, but pre-registration is required

Backstage Club
Backstage Club is an international workshop series tackling key aspects of
international collaborations. The event series is open to artists and cultural
professionals locally and internationally as well. It aims to foster knowledge
sharing by involving key experts in the field as workshop holders, initiate
collaborative thinking among the participants on the topics and improve
awareness of cultural professionals and artists to international opportunities
(such as funding and partnership development).
The Backstage Club is an initiative of the Creative Europe funded program
NextStage, which offers an international incubation program for a new
generation of managers, who can collaborate with more experienced
colleagues to create safe spaces and sustainable career paths for emerging
and mid-career artists. https://nextstageproject.com/
The Backstage Club in Budapest is the second in the series, following the one
in Athens-Greece in April 2024, and to be followed by one in Dusseldorf-
Germany in May 2025.

Backstage Club is part of NextStage, a Creative Europe funded program,
organised by Workshop Foundation [HU], TooFarEast [GR] and Nedelcu &
Hauser/Kompliz:innen [DE].
